What it is
Agentic AI describes systems that plan and act over multiple steps — using tools, memory, and control flow — rather than answering in a single shot. It raises the bar for evaluation, safety, and observability.
Why it matters in production
Agentic systems are where hiring demand is moving — and where demos lie. Multi-step autonomy multiplies cost, latency, and failure surface, so the engineers who can evaluate and bound these systems are the ones who get hired to build them.
